![]() ![]() ![]() So you can appreciate the depth of the problem, I've attached two screenshots of what happens when I invoke the Topaz filter menu in Ps. and link to Photoshop produces inconsistent and unfathomable results - and no it's not an El Capitan issue - it's a Topaz issue, as can be seen by the sheer variety of incompatibilities that surface. Running Clarity, Detail, Infocus through Lightroom is fine (that 's with their obligatory FusionExpress2 intermediate host app). You don't say whether or not you're also using Photoshop ( again a difference between CS6 and CC2015) - but if you are again there will be a difference in how/when the apps stall. Use them in their in-house host application FX-lab, and all is in fine. Topaz have a truly excellent collection of add-ins, the problem is they never work in a consistent manner with 3rd party host applications. I wonder what experience others have had with this issue, and what did you have to do to get it to work.Īllow me to save you an eternity of agony, a 2-word piece of advice: Give up. So I have two useless apps and will never buy another Topaz product. Couple of more reminders to Topaz produced no response. The problem is that when FusionExp installs, the permissions are back to 'no access' and the install halts. I let them know, and they asked me to go to the terminal window and set the '777' permissions to the /Library/Application Support/Topaz Labs/ folder. There was nothing new here that I had not done already including checking /usr/local permissions etc. I finally heard back that they had a high volume, and a link and video on how to do this upgrade on El Capitan. Send a reminder four days later and another one the following day. This was about two weeks ago and I opened a support ticket with Topaz. FusionExp does not do its thing and present a selection of Topaz apps. Made an appropriate selection to edit Original File or New oneĨ. In LR I set FusionExp as external editorħ. Went to that file and changed permissions to 'everyone'ĥ. Installed Fusion Exp and got the error as shown in attachment that I did not have access to the file FusionExpConfig.pdfĤ. Changed file permissions for 'everyone' to Read & Write including enclosed files in Mac HD/Library/Application Supportģ. Downloaded latest Adjust5, B&W and Fusion Express from Topaz site and re-installed Topaz and B&WĢ. As such, I have no access to any of the Topaz apps.ġ. Since the El Capitan update, calling the Fusion Express editor does nothing. At least it did prior to the El Capitan update. You then have to click on its 'Run' button and the module, in my case Adjust or B&W opens up. When you call Fusion Express from LR edit menu, it takes a few seconds, and gathers information about Topaz modules and the presents you with a choice to select one. While most plugins can be accessed directly, Topaz has a Fusion Express that needs to be set in LR as an editor. I have several plugins running in LR 6.2 without problems - Nik, On1 10 suite, PortraitProStudio 15 etc. Thanks for your time and patience and allowing me to "color outside the lines" a bit!I recently updated to Mac OS X 10.11.1 El Capitan. is there a way to resave that photo as a normal Adobe RAW file (or does it even matter)? I THOUGHT I read somewhere recently that there had been some changes in Topaz (yes, I'll ask them!) where with the newest updates in LrC and Topaz, any selected file(s) run through Topaz and then saved back to LrC kept a RAW file format. ![]() Once any final LrC edits have been done to the edited TIF.My "duh" question is if I want to do further editing in LrC, I'm assuming this needs to be done to the edited TIFF copy so that the Topaz changes are retained?.Since LrC shows that the two photos are part of a stack, right-clicking on either photo and clicking on "stacking" has " group into stack" grayed out.The filename there is " DSC_0451_NEF", which I'm assuming is the original RAW file that I started with, correct? If you hold over the photo right next to #1, " 2 of 2" pops up. Theįilename is something like " DSC_0451_edit.tif" į. Holding over the " 2", it changes to " 1 of 2" and " file is part of a stack". Once back in LrC, that original photo now has a little " 2" in it and there's been an extra image added. When done, you click on " Save to Adobe Lightroom Classic" Į. There are a couple of other selections that are grayed out and notĭ. I went with option #1 above that brings up a Topaz box that says, " Edit a Copy with Lightroom Adjustments". ? Is one way better than another or do any of them do the same basic thing ? C. ![]()
